Dometic B40 Thermoelectric / Compressor Cooler is two cooling systems in one box. A compressor cooler for stationary and mobile use can be hard on your pocket - the new B40 won't!

Designed as a typical portable awning cooler the B40 incorporates a powerful compressor as well as a thermoelectric cooling unit. The thermoelectric system is used when the cooler is connected the 12-volt car battery. This ensures that the cool chain is maintained during transport from home to the campsite, cooling 20 degrees C below ambient temperature.When connected to the mains supply, either at home for pre-cooling or on the campsite hook-up, the B40 in compressor mode the provides cooling and deep-freezing up to -15 degrees C, even at high ambient temperatures, to make sure your goods stay cold in the hottest of summers!

We had been looking for quite some time for a coolbox that could freeze if required - This is just the job.
It is very quiet and efficient, it quickly reaches a good low temprature and maintains it, providing you keep it at a high setting. Great for ice cream and frozen food.
On a slight downside It is a bigger and heavier unit than we expected (21kg) and it was a bit awkward getting it through our motorhome main door as we had to turn it on its back to fit, however if you put it in the awning once you arrive at your detination it tucks away nicely and as it is so quiet you don't hear it workng at all.
The 240v gets the temprature down and the 12v when travelling holds that temp well. At last something that does the job without breaking the bank! Recommended.
