How to Stay Safe on Bonfire Night

Despite it being common sense, and the constant safety warnings, Bonfire Night still ends in lots of injuries. Here is our list of things you should do to keep yourself and everyone else safe this fifth of November.

- Stand far back from the bonfire

- Don’t use petrol or paraffin on the bonfire

- Don’t leave the bonfire unattended

- Make sure the bonfire is put out before leaving it

-Use fireworks one at a time

- Read and follow the instructions on the fireworks

- Keep fireworks away from a naked flame

- Light fireworks and sparklers as arm’s length

- Never return to a firework one lit

- Direct rockets away from any spectators

- Supervise children with sparklers

- Have a bucket of water to hand in case of an emergency

- Put used sparklers in a bucket of water

- Keep any pets inside
