When looking for a Christmas present for someone who is cycling mad, it can be quite difficult. After all, a brand-new bike might be out of budget and a little too obvious. Not to mention how you'll struggle to gift wrap a bike without giving the game away! Although you can secure a bike for Christmas, here. But if you aren’t treating your cycling crazy loved one, what do you get them?

Base layer

Something that can be used all year round for cyclists is a good quality base layer. Whether your loved one is in need of a fresh one or has never used one, a base layer is the perfect gift to keep them warm and dry when on a ride. Available as a t-shirt, long-sleeved top or leggings, base layers can also double up as everyday thermals in the colder months.

Cycling gloves

If you are after a small gift to fill a stocking or are on a budget, a pair of cycling gloves are a great idea to add a little comfort whilst on a ride. From fingerless to full gloves, to water and windproof, there are lots of options to choose from to suit your gift recipient.

Waterproofs

Are they a dedicated cyclists that will go out come rain or sunshine? Why not keep them covered with a set of waterproofs? Designed to be comfortable thanks to adjustable waists and cuffs, and able to easily pack-away, the Oxford Rainseal waterproof jacket and over trousers are an ideal pair of waterproofs for trail or road cyclists, or commuters.

Cycling glasses

One thing you may not think a cyclist needs at this time of year but is an ideal present is a pair of cycling glasses. Whilst the days are getting cloudier and darker, sunglasses when cycling are still important. Not only do they protect eyes from the sun, they also shield them from any rain, road spray and debris. And with cycling glasses being so small, they make a great stocking stuffer.

Helmet

An ideal present for any cyclists should be a brand-new helmet. Whether it be to replace an old, battered one, or to start keeping them safe when riding, a helmet is always a good shout. After all, we want to keep our loved ones safe!

Bike lights

Sticking with safety, if the person receiving the gift goes on rides when its dark outside (a commuter perhaps?), a set of bike lights would be perfect for them. With front and back light options, as well as wheel reflectors to choose from, you can light up your loved one’s bike like a Christmas tree for extra visibility on the dark mornings and nights.

Water bottle and cage

Struggling for stocking fillers? Why not get them a fresh water bottle? After all, staying hydrated, especially on a bike ride, is important. And to make it easy to take on a ride, why not also get them a bottle cage to attach to their bike? That way, they can easily grab their bottle when they need to and not have to worry about carrying a bag just for a water bottle.

Inner tubes

Probably one of the most random but useful presents you could get someone is an inner tube for their bike. An inner tube is an inflatable ring for the inside of tires that provide a smoother ride when out of the bike. Whilst your loved one might not want them now, they will thank you for them later.
