Thieves made off with a Roodog Avatar electric bike this Sunday 17th April 2016 from Towsure Outdoor Leisure Superstore in Hillsborough, Sheffield. At approximately 1:30pm CCTV images capture 2 males entering the store and leaving shortly afterwards, one riding the cycle out of the car park and towards Hillsborough Centre. The electric bike is described as very distinctive and unusual, featuring a large matt-black men's mountain bike frame with an unusually large down tube. The down tube features a large, bright red plastic cover over the internal battery housing, which requires a key to open. An "ignition key" is also mounted on the downtube near to the front of the bike. The charger and keys for both the battery cover and for the ignition were not taken, so the bike will have neither keys nor means to use the electric assist or throttle control,, so the thieves or anyone buying this stolen bike will be seeking means of enabling the electric-assist, and looking to source a suitable charger. It may be offered for sale as having "lost" the charger, or the plastic panel may be damaged in an attempt to "hot-wire" the system Anyone with any further information regarding this bike is asked to contact South Yorkshire Police on (0114) 220 20 20, quoting reference K/3926612016
