Lighting for Power Cuts
Keeping a good quality torch or battery lantern somewhere accessible in case of a power cut is always good practice in the home. Having rechargeable lantern or battery lights for power cuts avoids being stuck in a blackout, and helps to avoid accidents moving around in the dark.
Remember to keep fresh batteries in your emergency lighting, or to keep it charged. If the lights go out in a power cut you will have backup lighting for a power outage in easy reach.
Keeping at least one hand torch or head torch somewhere easily accessible is also a good idea, for moving around on stairs, landings, heading to the bathroom etc.
We've put together a selection from our camping lanterns range that are perfect for using if the power switches off.
Tip! Battery operated white LED Christmas lights are a great way to give a low level of illumination along corridors etc - draped along a dado rail or around a doorway they can make a big difference, avoiding total darkness
